Strawberry Basil Water
Serve this festive fruit-infused water at your next holiday party or get-together. It’s as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate.
Ingredients
Serves: 12
Serving Size: 8 oz per serving
Infused water
6 to 8 strawberries (hulled and quartered)
1/2 medium lemon (thinly sliced)
Handful fresh medium basil leaves
4 cups ice
8 cups water
Garnishes (optional)
12 strawberry slices
12 lemon slices
12 fresh medium basil leaves
Directions
- Put the quartered strawberries, 1/2 lemon and handful of basil leaves in 3-quarter water pitcher. Fill the pitcher with the ice. Cover with the water. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours before serving.
- To serve, using a slotted spoon, remove and discard strawberries, lemon slices and basil leaves. Pour the infused water into glasses.
- To garnish, add strawberry slices, lemon slice, and basil leaf to each glass
Tip: for a fancier garnish, hang a strawberry fan off the rim of each glass. To make a strawberry fan, thinly slice a whole strawberry lengthwise to, but not all the way through, the cap. Press down gently on the cap end to separate the slices into a fan.
